[IV. BOARD/PTA MOMENT]

THIS TIME. UM I AM VERY PLEASED TO SAY THAT MESQUITE THIS LAST WEEKEND, ALL OF THE BOARD MEMBERS WENT TO A TEST THAT TEST THE CONVENTION AND MR CARBO, WE'LL TALK ABOUT IT IN JUST A LITTLE BIT. BUT MESQUITE SHINE. WE WERE DEFINITELY VERY PLEASED AND PROUD OF OUR STUDENTS AND OUR AND OUR STAFF. IT SO YOU WANT TO TALK ABOUT IT? LITTLE BIT. TALK ABOUT YES, MADAM PRESIDENT. YEAH, WE ACTUALLY, UM , THE FACILITY STARTED WITH A MISKITO DRUMLINE OPENING HIM TEST A TEST BE FROM, YOU KNOW OUR BOUTIQUE PIRATE DRUMLINE. AND THEY OPENED UP TASKS. A TASK B. THEN WE HAD A FIELD TRIP FRIDAY THAT VISITED RATHER FOR ELEMENTARY AND BANGOR HIGH SCHOOL AND OUR STUDENTS WHO ARE AMAZING. OUR STUDENTS WERE SO AMAZING THAT I KEPT GETTING STOPPED AT THE CONFERENCE ROOM AND PEOPLE JUST GOING ON AND ON ABOUT THE INTERACTIONS THEY HAD.

WE ALSO HAD A PRESENTATION ON ON THE CONCEPT OF, UH CHOICE HIGH SCHOOL AND HOW WE WENT ABOUT THAT AND ARE IN AND EVERYBODY WAS INTERESTED ABOUT THE PROCESS ABOUT THE PROGRAMS. AND SO MESQUITA WAS VERY WELL REPRESENTED, AND SESSIONS WERE WELL ATTENDED. UM I THINK IT WAS

[00:05:04]

A VERY FRUITFUL WEEK. YES, IT WAS. YES IT WAS. YES I WAS A PART OF THAT MESQUITE PROMISE WHERE THE PEOPLE FROM ALL OVER THE STATE CAME IN TALKING. US ABOUT OUR MESQUITE PROMISE IN.

THE INTERESTING THING IS THAT STUDENTS WHO ARE ON THE PANEL, WHICH WAS AWESOME, AND THEY TALKED ABOUT HOW THE PROMISE AFFECTED THEM, AND ACTUALLY, THEY FEEL THE QUESTIONS FROM A BUNCH OF SCHOOL REMEMBERS ACROSS THE STATE AND THAT WAS NOT PRACTICED. I MEAN, I KNOW IT WAS JUST SO EXCITING TO WATCH THEM. ANSWER, AND IT CAME FROM THEY'RE HARD, SO VERY PROUD. ALSO AM VERY PROUD OF MR CARBO. OKAY HE WAS RE ELECTED. HE IS A HE IS A EXPLAIN WHERE YOU WERE RE ELECTED TO. THIS IS A BIG DEAL FOR US, BY THE WAY. I WAS RE ELECTED DIRECTOR OF THE TEXAS ASSOCIATION OF SCHOOL BOARDS TEND THE CLEAR. THANK YOU FOR THREE YEAR TERMS. I HAVE TO GO OVER THIS AGAIN THREE YEARS, BUT BUT IT'S OKAY. LUCKILY I WAS RUNNING UNOPPOSED. YOU HAVE TO TELL THAT IT WASN'T A CLOSE RACE , YAHTZEE RAN FAST. YEAH OH, ABOUT THE CONVENTION A LITTLE BIT LIKE YEAH, LET ME LET ME ADD TO THAT. ACTUALLY IT WAS A VERY GOOD CONVENTION, AND I MUST TELL YOU GUYS WE RECEIVED THAT LEADS . I GET TO TALK TO JUST ABOUT EVERYBODY THERE, AND I RECEIVED SO MANY ACCOLADES ABOUT KIDS FROM PETITE AS WELL AS THOSE THAT SPOKE ON THE ON THE MESQUITE PROMISE. AND YOU GUYS, YOU WOULD ALL BE SO PROUD OF THEM. I MEAN, THEY'RE FANTASTIC . AND THEY WERE TALKING AT THAT DIDN'T MATTER WHAT AGE. EVEN THE YOUNG ONES WERE ANSWERING QUESTIONS THAT WERE HIGH LEVEL QUESTIONS. AND SOMETIMES DIFFICULT, AND THEY DISPUTE ANSWERS SO EASILY THAT YOU JUST HAVE TO FEEL GREAT ABOUT HIM. SO I WANTED TO PUT THAT IN. BESIDES THAT THERE WERE SEVERAL TOPICS THAT WERE DISCUSSED. UM ONE IMPORTANT THEY'RE TALKING ABOUT.

OF COURSE, THE BIG THE BIG WORD RIGHT NOW IS VOUCHERS. UH WHAT WE WROTE WAS A COMMENT THAT SAID , WE RECOMMEND THAT TEXAS LEGISLATOR OPPOSED ANY OR ALL ATTEMPTS THROUGH EFFORTS OF POLICY OF LEGISLATION TO DIVERT PUBLIC FUNDING TOWARDS PRIVATE OR NON NON PUBLIC EDUCATION INSTITUTIONS. AND AS YOU KNOW THAT PART OF THE CONSTITUTION THAT PROTECTS PUBLIC FUNDS SO, SO THAT CONVERSATION WAS THERE AMID THE FACT THAT WE'RE GOING TO SPECIAL SESSION AND THAT'S GOING TO BE ONE OF THE TOPICS THAT WE'RE GOING TO DISCUSS. THE OTHER PART THAT WE TALKED ABOUT WAS WHAT WE CALL THE BASIC ALLOTMENT. WHICH FOR US WHAT THAT MEANS IS OLD SCHOOL DISTRICTS HAVE CERTAIN MONIES THAT THEY RECEIVE HER STUDENT AND WE ARE TOWARDS THE BOTTOM MIDDLE OF THAT ALLOTMENT. UM, AND WE'RE TRYING TO MAKE SURE THAT THERE'S EQUITY ON THAT SO THAT WE START RECEIVING THE EQUITY THAT WE SHOULD BE GETTING THE AMOUNT OF MONEY THAT WE SHOULD BE GETTING. UM AND WE WANT TO MAKE SURE THAT IT'S BASED FUNDING. FOUR STUDENT EDUCATION BUT ALSO FOR TEACHER COMPENSATION. NOW IT'S WE'RE GOING TO SEE WHAT HAPPENS. AND IN THAT THAT SESSION. THAT SPECIAL SESSION THAT STARTS NOW ON OCTOBER. SOME OF US WILL WILL BE GOING TO AUSTIN. UM, UM, HOPING ROBERT STEWART IS BETTER BY THEN. UM DOES OF YOU THAT DON'T KNOW IT. ROBERT SEWARD IS VERY WELL RESPECTED IT AND THE LEGISLATIVE CIRCLE HERE IN IN THE STATE OF TEXAS, AND I MEAN THE STATE OF TEXAS. THEY KNOW HIM WELL. UM. AND HE WAS A MESS.

I MISSED HIM THIS THIS WEEKEND BECAUSE A LOT WAS GOING ON AND HERE WAS BRINGING ON LOT TO THE TABLE. I JUST WANTED TO THROW THAT IN THERE. ROBERT, IF YOU'RE LISTENING WHEREVER YOU ARE CAMERA, I'M LOOKING FOR THE CAMERA. SO THERE THAT EVER OH, THERE'S A LIGHT THE RED LIGHT.

THAT'S WHERE IT IS. ROBERT. ANYWAYS, UM. I WILL TELL YOU. THE THIRD THING THAT WE TALKED ABOUT WAS THEY WERE TALKING ABOUT. THE SCHOOLS THEMSELVES AND HOW THEY RATE AND THEY WANTED TO COMPARE THEM TO LIKE CHARTER SCHOOLS. FOR EXAMPLE, LOOK AT THE RATINGS AND OUR QUANDARY IS YOU'RE GOING TO COMPARE US WHO WE HAVE RESTRICTIONS. WE HAVE CERTAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES THAT WE HAVE TO DO. TO A GROUP OF SCHOOLS THAT DON'T HAVE ANY ACCOUNTABILITY

[00:10:03]

THAT COULD TEACH WHATEVER THEY WANT IN THEIR CURRICULUM. PRETTY MUCH AND DON'T HAVE TO REPORT SO WE DON'T THINK THAT'S GOING TO BE COMPARING APPLES TO APPLES, AND THAT'S NOT FAIR FOR WORK FOR OUR KIDS HERE IN OUR SCHOOLS. UM AND THAT WAS THAT WAS ONE OF THE OTHER FEW THINGS THAT WE TALKED ABOUT, BUT IT WAS VERY INTERESTING. I THINK THIS WAS A VERY GOOD CONFERENCE AND WE JUST . WE JUST HAVE A LOT OF WORK TO DO, GUYS. WE HAVE A LOT OF WORK TO DO. AND I ENCOURAGE YOU GUYS TO GO TO AUSTIN THIS THIS SESSION IF YOU CAN. WE'RE BLESSED THAT ROBERT DR FRANK, LESS AND MYSELF HAVE BEEN ABLE TO GO AS MANY TIMES AS POSSIBLE BECAUSE IT HAS TO BE DONE, AND WE HAVE SEVERAL DISTRICTS AROUND HERE THAT ARE PARTNERING WITH US AND ASSOCIATIONS LIKE TEACHER ASSOCIATIONS AND PTS. SO WITH THAT SAID, THAT'S MY SPELL, AND I'M STICKING THROUGH IT.

APPRECIATE IT VERY MUCH SO UM, THE LADY FROM PTA HERE IS YOUR VOICE FROM P T. A OKAY. ALL RIGHT. UM DID YOU KNOW AND I SAW THIS ON OUR WEBSITE. THIS IS CUSTODIAN RECOGNITION. YOU GUYS . YOU JUST DON'T KNOW HOW IMPORTANT THEY ARE TO OUR SCHOOLS IN OUR FACILITIES. UM IN . I WORKED IN THE ELEMENTARY WORLD. YOU ARE A PART OF THE STAFF. I MEAN, THE KIDS LOVED THEM, AND SO THANK YOU FOR ALL THE SERVICE THAT YOU DO FOR MESQUITE ALSO IS A DYSLEXIA MARCH 2, SO YEAH. IS ANYBODY FROM MEA HERE? DID THEY WANT TO SPEAK? OKAY ALRIGHT. IF YOU WILL . I HAD ONE THING THAT I WANTED TO SAY ABOUT PITA A THIS LAST MONTH'S MEETING IN THE COUNCIL MEETING WE HAD, UM, A GENTLEMAN MATTHEW HALL FROM RAISE YOUR HAND TAXES WHO SPOKE TO THE ASSEMBLY AND TOLD US ABOUT WHAT'S GOING ON IN UNTIL THEY WERE AND SOME PLANS THAT THEY HAVE. UM THERE AN ADVOCACY GROUP , AND THEY HELPED VERY MUCH WITH THE ADVOCACY FOR THE PUBLIC SCHOOLS AND IN TEXAS. SO WE APPRECIATE THEM FOR THAT. THANK YOU, OKAY. UM OUR NEXT ON OUR

[V. STUDENT AND STAFF GUESTS]

AGENDA IS, UH, STUDENT AND STAFF RECOGNITIONS. OKAY, WHOOPS. OKAY WE'RE GOING TO BEGIN BY HONORING OR RECOGNIZING THE NEWEST MEMBERS OF OUR APPLE CORE THIS EVENING. FROM NORTH MESQUITE HIGH SCHOOL. WE HAVE AMY MARSHALL KONISHI IS A CT PROFESSIONAL COMMUNICATIONS TEACHER WITH 16 YEARS OF EXPERIENCE, EIGHT OF THOSE WITH MOSQUITO SD, AND WE HAVE A BRIEF VIDEO TO INTRODUCE HER TO YOU. IT REALLY IS AN HONOR TO RECOGNIZE THE SAME CALLING FOR APPLE CORE. WHEN YOU WALK INTO THIS KINDS CLASSROOM, IT'S EASY TO FILL HER ENERGY. IT'S EASY TO FEEL HER COMMITMENT AND DEDICATION TO OUR STUDENTS. ACTUALLY I IDENTIFY AS WHAT OUR STUDENTS NEED, AND SHE PROVIDES THEM THE OPPORTUNITY TO BE SUCCESSFUL. I KNOW I SPEAK FOR THE NORTHSIDE COMMUNITY. WHENEVER I SAY WE APPRECIATE MISHCON INS DEDICATION WE APPRECIATE HER SERVICE. WE APPRECIATE HER CARE AND SUPPORT FOR OUR STUDENTS. SHE HAS AMAZING VOICE AND IMPACTS OUR CAMPUS ON A DAILY BASIS. THANKS FOR ALL YOU DID WAS GONE. WHEN I WAS IN HIGH SCHOOL, I HAD ZERO IDEA. I WAS GOING TO BE A HIGH SCHOOL TEACHER, AND I LOOKED BACK YEARS LATER. AND SO MANY TEACHERS. YOU SHOULD BE A HIGH SCHOOL TEACHER. YOU SHOULD BE A TEACHER. I WENT TO COLLEGE AND LIKE, I'M NOT GOING TO BE A TEACHER, AND THEN I TOOK SPEECH CLASSES AND THEN HERE I AM NOW ALMOST 30 YEARS LATER AS A TEACHER, TEACHING THEM SPEECH BECAUSE EVERY SINGLE DAY IN OUR LIVES WE COMMUNICATE. AND THEY NEED GUIDANCE IN THAT, AND THAT'S MY HOPE IS TO MOLD THEM AND TO HELP THEM SEE THAT EVERYTHING THEY DO EVERYTHING THEY SAY THEIR BODY, THEIR EYE ROLLS. THEIR SHRUGS THEIR MOUTHS , MAX ALL ARE PART OF WHO THEY ARE AND THEIR COMMUNICATION, AND IS THAT HOW THEY WANT TO REPRESENT THEMSELVES. AND SO EVERY SINGLE DAY I'M JUST TRYING TO GET THEM TO BE THEMSELVES. AND REALIZE THEIR AUTHENTICITY AND THEIR PLACE IN THE WORLD AND HOW MUCH THEY'RE WORTH IT AND I'M HERE BECAUSE THERE WERE THEM. WELL YOU CAN'T TOUCH IT. IT'S NOT YOURS YET. YOU CAN READ YOUR NAME IF YOU WANT TO THANK YOU. CAUTION. IT'S TWO PIECES. YOU HAVE THE RIGHT ATTITUDE FOR HIGH

[00:15:06]

SCHOOL. I LIKE THAT. SUPPOSED TO BE. OKAY SO HERE WE GO, WHEREAS MOSQUITO INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT BOARD OF TRUSTEES SEEKS TO HONOR OUTSTANDING CLASSROOM TEACHERS WHO DEMONSTRATE LEADERSHIP INNOVATION AND THAT OCCASION TO THE STUDENTS OF MOSQUITO IS DATE. AND WHEREAS THE MOSQUITO IS THE APPLE CORE CONSISTS OF EXCEPTIONAL TEACHERS NOMINATED BY THEIR PEERS TO RECEIVE THE SCHOOL DISTRICTS HIGHEST RECOGNITION. THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE BOARD OFFICIALLY WELCOMES AMY MARSHALL CONNING INTO THE MOSQUITOES, THE APPLE CORPS AND THE SECOND DAY OF OCTOBER OF 2023. CONGRATULATIONS NEXT MONTH.

INTERPRETER JOINED ME TODAY. THANK YOU, JORDAN, OKAY? THANK YOU TO DR RIVERA, THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES AND MOSQUITO MISTY. I WANT TO ASK YOU A QUESTION. WHAT IS THE MOST ONE OF THE MOST POWERFUL AND INFLUENTIAL TEACHING METHODS THAT WE HAVE? MODELING. IT'S WHAT WE DO DAILY IN MANY DIFFERENT WAYS AN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL, IT MIGHT BE MOVING OUR MOUTH INTO THE SHAPES FOR THE LETTERS AND PHONICS IN MIDDLE SCHOOL MIGHT BE ON THE BOARD. RELENTLESSLY DOING MATH PROBLEM AFTER MATH PROBLEM UNTIL THEY GET IT. AND IN HIGH SCHOOL , IT MIGHT BE IN THE CT NUTRITION OR CULINARY CLASS WHERE YOU'RE MEASURING AND SHOWING THEM HOW TO GET IT ACCURATE. SO YOUR RECIPES TURN OUT JUST RIGHT. WELL, TODAY, MY SPEECH IS GOING TO BE A LITTLE BIT DIFFERENT. BECAUSE I'M GOING TO SHARE A LIVE EXAMPLE OF MODELING WITH YOU. IT'S GOING TO BE A SPEECH WITHIN A SPEECH. IF YOU WILL. MY CT PROFESSIONAL COMMUNICATIONS STUDENTS HAVE TO DO A SPECIAL OCCASION SPEECH. THIS IS A CHOICE ASSIGNMENT WHERE THEY HAVE EIGHT CHOICES OF REAL LIFE SPEECHES THAT THEY MIGHT GIVE SOME DAY AS PART OF THEIR PRESENTATION, THEY HAVE TO PREPARE RESEARCH SHARE EXAMPLES OF EXCELLENT SPEECHES AND A COLLABORATIVE ASSIGNMENT.

EVALUATE WHY THEY WERE EXCELLENT. AND TODAY I HOPE TO PROVIDE THEM WITH AN EXEMPLARY EXAMPLE OF AN AWARD SPEECH. I HAVE FOR YOU, BUT I'M NOT GOING TO PASS THEM OUT FOR THE SAKE OF TIME. PURE EVALUATIONS. SO JUST SO YOU KNOW BOARD. PLEASE FEEL FREE TO EMAIL ME WITH YOUR FEEDBACK BECAUSE I'M OPEN TO GROWING AND IMPROVING BASED ON WHAT YOU SAY. BEFORE I BEGIN. I WOULD LIKE EVERYONE TO KNOW THAT I'M ACTUALLY SHAKING A LITTLE BIT AND NERVOUS MYSELF. BECAUSE MANY TIMES PEOPLE THINK THAT IF YOU'RE A PROFESSIONAL OR SUPPOSED EXPERTS AT SOMETHING THAT THAT MEANS YOU AUTOMATICALLY ARE GOOD AT IT WITHOUT NERVES AND FEAR. THIS IS NOT TRUE. AND AS WE GROW THROUGH LIFE GO THROUGH LIFE. THEY'RE GOING TO BE MANY TIMES WHEN WE'RE UPSET, FRUSTRATED, NERVOUS, EVEN SCARED. AND I WANT YOU TO KNOW THAT PUSHING THROUGH THESE MOMENTS PROVIDE YOU WITH SOME OF THE BEST OPPORTUNITY FOR GROWTH. AND OFTEN RESULT IN THE GREATEST MOMENTS OF OUR LIFE. SO IF YOU WILL, I'M GOING TO PAUSE AND START OVER AGAIN FOR MY SPEECH WITHIN A SPEECH. HMM. THANK YOU TO DR RIVERA AND THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES AND MOSQUITO GST. IT IS AN HONOR TO BE RECEIVING THIS AWARD TODAY AND TO WORK FOR DISTRICT THAT VALUES INNOVATIVE WAYS OF TEACHING AND REWARDS US AND ACKNOWLEDGES ITS TEACHERS. AS WE KNOW. TEACHERS DON'T TEACH HER RECOGNITION, BUT IT'S NICE TO BE SEEN NOT ONLY BY YOU ALL BUT MY PEERS. AND IT'S MY HOPE EVERY DAY THAT I SHOW MY STUDENTS THAT THEY'RE SEEING. THAT THEY ARE WELCOMED THAT THEY ARE RESPECTED AND THAT THEY BELONG. AND I WOULDN'T BE HERE TODAY. IF IT WASN'T FOR SEVERAL GROUPS OF PEOPLE THAT I WOULD LIKE TO THANK THE FIRST IS MY COLLEAGUES. I KNOW MANY OF THEM ARE ONLINE. AND AS MR CARBO SAID, WHERE'S THE CAMERA? THERE IT IS. ALRIGHT STALLION PRIDE, RIGHT? SO I HAVE A LOT OF PEOPLE TO MENTION, AND I FEEL REALLY FORTUNATE FOR THAT. FIRST IS MY CTE TEAM AT THE DISTRICT AND CAMPUS LEVEL. THEY ARE TOP NOTCH AND I AM PROUD TO BE PART OF THAT TEAM EVERY TIME WE COME TOGETHER TO COLLABORATE, COLLABORATE. I GROW AS AN EDUCATOR AND I FEEL SUPPORTED AND I'D LIKE TO GIVE A SPECIAL SHOUT OUT TO MY NORTH FAMILY AND TO THE PROGRAM TEACHERS ACROSS THE DISTRICT. I'M ALSO PART OF THE E TIP PROGRAM AND BEING PART OF THIS REQUIRES MENTIONING BECAUSE IT'S A SPECIAL PROGRAM THAT HAS GIVEN ME COLLABORATION

[00:20:04]

ACROSS THE DISTRICT. STRENGTHEN BONDS WITH TEACHERS OUTSIDE OF MY DEPARTMENT THAT I MAY NOT WORK WITH. AND GIVEN ME AN OPPORTUNITY TO EXPAND MY TEACHING CRAFT IN WAYS THAT I NEVER IMAGINED. AND TO THE ADMINISTRATIVE TEAM AT NORTH PAST AND PRESENT. I'VE ALWAYS FELT SUPPORTED AND COURAGE. I FEEL LIKE THE COMMUNICATION DOORS ARE OPEN AND I CAN GO TO YOU FOR ANYTHING, AND I CAN'T TELL YOU WHAT THAT MEANS TO ME. I KNOW THAT MR REED IS HERE TODAY. AND MANY OTHERS ARE WATCHING ONLINE. THANK YOU VERY MUCH TO MY FELLOW TEACHERS CLEARLY WOULD NOT BE HERE TODAY IF IT WASN'T FOR YOU, SINCE THIS IS PURE NOMINATED, I JUST WANT YOU TO KNOW THAT YOU INSPIRE ME . YOU ENCOURAGE ME AND THAT YOU SUPPORT ME EVERY DAY AND I THANK YOU FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART. AND NOW OUR STUDENTS. NONE OF US WOULD BE HERE. IF IT WASN'T FOR OUR STUDENTS, AND I COULD TALK ABOUT THEM ALL DAY AND NIGHT. THEY ARE AMAZING. AND THEY DESERVE THIS. MENTIONING MY PAST , PRESENT AND FUTURE STUDENTS. NORTHSIDE PRIDE FIRST, YOU MAY BE WONDERING WHY JORDAN IS HERE AS AN ANT SL INTERPRETER. WELL, I'VE INVITED HER. TO JOIN ME AS REPRESENTATION OF WHAT IS IMPORTANT TO ME AND MY CLASSROOM MAKING EDUCATION ACCESSIBLE AND EQUITABLE FOR ALL STUDENTS, ALL OF OUR STUDENTS IN DESSERT MOSQUITO SD DESERVE THAT TYPE OF ATTENTION TO DETAIL. MOST OF YOU DON'T KNOW ABOUT THE SPEECH. THE SPEECH CLASS IS ONLY ONCE, MR COURSE. AND I KNOW THIS MIGHT SHOCK YOU, BUT A MAJORITY OF THE STUDENTS DON'T WANT TO BE THERE.

THANKFULLY BY THE TIME IT'S OVER THERE, LIKE WHAT? IT IS DECEMBER . I WON'T SEE YOU IN JANUARY, AND THEY'RE SAD TO GO. BECAUSE OF THAT QUICK TURNOVER. I TEACH A LOT OF STUDENTS IN MY EIGHTH.

THIS IS MY EIGHTH YEAR HERE AND I'VE TAUGHT OVER 8 1500 STUDENTS DURING MY TIME AT NORTH MESQUITE HIGH SCHOOL, AND YOU MIGHT THINK THAT BECAUSE IT'S SUCH A QUICK PACE THAT THE QUALITY WOULD SUFFER. HOWEVER I WANT YOU TO KNOW THAT I INTENTIONALLY FOCUSED ON CREATING A HIGH QUALITY INSTRUCTION AND I FOCUS ON ROUTINES, ORGANIZATIONS AND CONNECTING IN THE CLASS.

BUILDING AN ENVIRONMENT THAT IS RESPECTFUL AND SAFE, FOR ALL QUICKLY IS NOT AN EASY TASK TO DO AND I STEP UP TO THAT CHALLENGE EVERYDAY SOCIAL EMOTIONAL LEARNING IS NOT JUST A FAD OR A CATCHPHRASE. IT'S CRITICAL TO ALL OF OUR STUDENTS SUCCESS. ALL THE STUDENTS IN MOSQUITO SD THIS PART OF THE MESSAGES FOR YOU. I HOPE THAT YOU KNOW YOU ARE WORTHY. YOU ARE LOVED. AND YOU BELONG HERE. I WILL WORK EVERY DAY TO SHOW YOU THAT. THE LAST GROUP IS MY FAMILY. IRONICALLY THE NOTE SAYS DURING THE FAMILY SECTION DO NOT CRY. BUT INSTEAD I'M CRYING FOR MY STUDENTS. AND I JUST WANT TO THANK MY FAMILY. MY PARENTS, MY SIBLINGS AND FRIENDS ARE AT HOME WATCHING ON FACEBOOK, AND THEY HAVE ALWAYS SUPPORTED ME AND ENCOURAGED ME TO FOLLOW MY PASSIONS AND MY KIDS ARE HERE. POUNDS STAND. OKAY STANDS. I CAN PAUSE ENOUGH, RIGHT? PREMISE.

INGLE MAMA THOSE THREE AND LET ME TELL YOU, THEY KEEP ME ON MY TOES. IF ANY OF YOU ARE A PARENT , YOU KNOW THAT THEY HUMBLE, YOU KNOW. THEY KEEP ME IN CHECK. THEY MAKE SURE I'M NOT TOO CRINGE. E THEY'RE PAINFULLY HONEST WHEN I ASKED THEM FOR THEIR FEEDBACK AND HELP ON THINGS, BUT I'M VERY, VERY PROUD OF THEM. THAT THEY SPEAK UP FOR THEMSELVES. FROM THAT THEY ARE THEIR AUTHENTIC SELVES. AND THEY INSPIRE ME EVERY DAY AND I HOPE TO MAKE THEM PROUD AND NOT TO EMBARRASS THEM TOO MUCH. I JUST WANT TO THANK THEM FOR BEING HERE BECAUSE I KNOW THEY'D PROBABLY RATHER BE AT HOME RIGHT NOW. AND I HOPE THEY KNOW HOW MUCH I LOVE THEM. SO IN CONCLUSION. I JUST WANT TO THANK YOU ALL AGAIN. EVERYBODY HERE IN THE AUDIENCE AND ON THE FACEBOOK LIVE FOR THIS HONOR, AND FOR ALLOWING ME THE OPPORTUNITY TO PRACTICE WHAT I PREACH. AND I HOPE YOU HAVE A WONDERFUL EVENING. THANK YOU. THANK YOU. THANK YOU. THANK YOU ANY. IS THERE ANY BODY ELSE YOU'D LIKE TO RECOGNIZE? MY PRINCIPAL AND MY KIDS AND EVERYONE ELSE IS WITH ME IN SPIRIT. ALL MY FAMILY IS NOT IN THE DALLAS FORT WORTH AREA. THANK YOU. THANK YOU.

MY ULTIMATE GOAL IS TO SEE THESE KIDS GRADUATE HIGH SCHOOL AND THEN CHOOSE CAREERS THAT ARE PULLING FOR THEM. AND I THINK I'M SO LUCKY BECAUSE I HAVE THE CHICKS TO HELP THEM BUILD THOSE SKILLS RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME RECALL CERTAIN AFFIRMATIONS THAT MY TEACHERS TAUGHT ME. WHEN I WAS YOUNGER, AND I TRIED TO GIVE THAT TO MY STUDENTS AS WELL, SAYING I CAN DO THIS. I CAN DO DIFFICULT THINGS WHETHER I WANT THOSE THINGS TO BE IN THEIR HEAD, AND I WANT THEM TO TAKE THOSE VOICES WITH THEM AND BE SUCCESSFUL. HMM. HMM. PROCLAMATION. WHEREAS THE MESQUITE INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT BOARD OF TRUSTEES, SIX TO HONOR OUTSTANDING CLASSROOM TEACHERS, AND DEMONSTRATE LEADERSHIP, INNOVATION AND DEDICATION. TO THE STUDENTS OF MOSQUITO HONESTLY. HEAR THIS, AND IT WILL BE VERY SIMILAR TO WHAT YOU HEARD PRETTY MUCH EVERY MONTH LAST LAST YEAR, BUT IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE T E, A AND REGION 10, THEY HAVE STARTED CONDUCTING THE RANDOM INTRUDER AUDITS AS THEY DID LAST LAST SCHOOL YEAR. LAST YEAR WE HAD ABOUT 85% OF OUR CAMPUSES WERE VISITED, UM NEW THIS YEAR. THEY SAID THAT EVERY CAMPUS IN THE STATE OF TEXAS WILL HAVE A VISIT. SO EVERY ONE OF OUR CAMPUSES WILL BE BUSINESS. WE'VE ALREADY HAD A HANDFUL THAT HAVE EVER RECEIVED THE VISIT. UM THIS SCHOOL YEAR AS THEY HAVE IN THE PAST, THE AUDITORS ARE GOING TO TEST A VARIETY OF COMPONENTS, INCLUDING HOW WE CHECK IN VISITORS. WHETHER OR NOT THE SCHOOL IS ACCESSIBLE THROUGH EXTERIOR DOORS. THEY'RE GOING TO REVIEW CURRENT SAFETY PRACTICES AND ENSURE THAT WE'RE CHECKING OUR DOORS CONSISTENTLY. WHICH YOU ALL KNOW THAT WE'RE CHECKING FOUR TIMES A DAY AND ARE ELEMENTARY'S WITH THE NEW ARMED GUARDS. THEY'RE DOING THAT EVEN MORE THAN FOUR TIMES A DAY.

THESE AUDITS REQUIRED BY TA SEEK TO HELP THEIR DISTRICTS IDENTIFY HEALTH CAMPUSES CAN IMPROVE STUDENT SAFETY. WE ACKNOWLEDGE THAT PARENTS AND THE COMMUNITY AND MEMBERS ARE LIKELY TO BE INTERESTED IN THE AUDIT RESULTS. HOWEVER THESE RESULTS ARE NOT TO BE RELEASED AS IT COULD COMPROMISE IMPORTANT CAMPUS SECURITY INFORMATION. SPECIFIC DETAILS MAY BE DISCUSSED IN EXECUTIVE SESSION WITH THE BOARD AND WITH THE SAFETY AND SECURITY COMMITTEE. UM WE WORK WITH OUR DISTRICT SCHOOL SAFETY AND SECURITY COMMITTEE TO ENSURE THAT WE'RE TRAINING ALL STAFF AND SECURING OUR EXTERIOR DOORS TO PROTECT THOSE WITHIN OUR BUILDINGS AND THE SUPPORT FROM THE STATE. CONDUCTING CONDUCTING THESE AUDITS IS JUST ONE OF THE ACTIONS THAT WE TAKE TO ENSURE OUR CAMPUSES ARE SAFE. WE KNOW THIS IS A CONTINUOUS JOURNEY, AND WE THINK THE BOARDS FOR YOUR SUPPORT THANK YOU.
