THE MESSAGE PLATFORM, 44% FLIER NEWSLETTERS. SO THE QUESTION IS, HOW EFFECTIVE ARE WE WITH OUR COMMUNICATION AND HOW IS IT THAT WE'RE GOING TO BE ABLE TO GO OVER THAT THRESHOLD AND FIND OUT WHAT WE'RE DOING FOR THE PARENTS? SO I'M GOING TO ENCOURAGE US TO KEEP TALKING ABOUT THAT. AND MAYBE TRY TO FIND A WAY TO BETTER COMMUNICATE, GET THOSE NUMBERS HIGHER HERE IN MESQUITE. THAT'S MY MOMENT. THANK YOU, MISS COLLIER. AND WE ALSO GET THE HONOR OF SENDING IN A DELEGATE AND AN ALTERNATE AND OURS ARE VERY ACTIVE IN SO MUCH. SO ONE OF OUR ROOKIE DELEGATES THIS YEAR, MISS COLLIER, ON A RESOLUTION THAT SOMEBODY TRIED TO AMEND, DID NOT AGREE WITH THAT, THAT AMENDMENT AND ACTUALLY A FEW OTHER PEOPLE TOO. TRANSPORTATION SERVICES STRIVES TO ENSURE EMPLOYEES ARE HEALTHY, SAFE, ENGAGED AND HAPPY TO WORK SO THAT THE STUDENTS CAN EXPERIENCE THE SECURING TRANSPORTATION. EMPLOYEES OFTEN SEE AN OPEN DOOR POLICY, AS WELL AS OPPORTUNITIES SUCH AS EMPLOYEES, CONTESTS, HOLIDAY DINNERS, EMPLOYEE APPRECIATION DAYS, EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTH, TEAM BUILDING ACTIVITIES, AND COMMUNITY SERVICE OPPORTUNITIES. SO CONTINUING EDUCATION IS A NECESSITY FOR US, ESPECIALLY IN THIS INDUSTRY. OUR STAFF, WE ARE ALL MEMBERS OF ALL OF THESE ASSOCIATED PUPIL TRANSPORTATION ORGANIZATIONS. THE REASON BEING IS BECAUSE IT HELPS US TO OBTAIN AND MAINTAIN CERTIFICATIONS AS WELL AS NETWORK, AND THOSE NETWORKING OPPORTUNITIES THAT WE GET. CULTIVATE RELATIONSHIPS THAT ENHANCE THE ENTIRE NORTH TEXAS REGION. SO AS PART OF THEIR ROTATION, KEOM BROADCASTS SAFETY ANNOUNCEMENTS FOR SCHOOL TRANSPORTATION. THESE ANNOUNCEMENTS PROVIDE IMPORTANT SAFETY ADVICE TO THE COMMUNITY, AND WE WILL SOON BE LAUNCHING A COMMUNITY WIDE INITIATIVE. STUFFED THE BUS TO PROVIDE TOYS AND CLOTHING THE BUS TO BUSSES STATIONED THROUGHOUT THE DISTRICT IN ORDER TO SUPPORT STUDENTS PARTICIPATING IN OUR HOMELESS PROGRAM. THIS IS DAVID CERDA AND ONE OF OUR EMPLOYEES THAT WE'D LIKE TO SPOTLIGHT TONIGHT. HE IS A BUS MONITOR AND ONE OF THE MANY DISTRICT SUCCESS STORIES THAT IS UTILIZED. THE TRANSITION PROGRAM THAT DESPITE CHALLENGES, HAS ENABLED HIM TO EFFECTIVELY FUNCTION IN THE WORKFORCE. WE ARE VERY FORTUNATE TO HAVE JOAQUIM AND JASON FROM VANGUARD. THEY JOINED OUR TEAM. THEY HAVE STEPPED UP AND OBTAINED A CDL INSPECTOR CERTIFICATION, AIR CONDITIONING CERTIFICATION AND WORKING TOWARDS STATE INSPECTION LICENSE. THIS YEAR WE ARE PROCEEDING WITH A NEW STUDENT FROM VANGUARD HIGH SCHOOL. THE PROGRAM WILL BE SUPERVISED BY ME TO ASSIST IN DEVELOP THEIR SKILLS. WE ARE EXCEEDINGLY PROUD TO RECOGNIZE OUR TWO STATEWIDE AWARDEES FOR THE 2324 SCHOOL YEAR. ANDY HUFFMAN PARTICIPATED IN THE EAST TEXAS BEST COMPETITION AND PLACED A PRESTIGIOUS FIRST OVERALL IN DIAGNOSTICS, REPAIR TIME AND ACCURACY AND IS CURRENTLY RANKED NUMBER ONE IN MECHANICS IN TEXA. THIS IS A MODEL T ENDORSES AND REQUIRES DISTRICTS TO USE TO SUPPORT SCHOOLS THAT ARE UNDERPERFORMING. BUT THE REALITY IS THIS FRAMEWORK IS A PRIMER ANY SCHOOL CAN USE TO ENSURE THEY HAVE SYSTEMS AND BEST PRACTICES IN PLACE. SO I'M NOT GOING TO GO THROUGH ALL THE GOALS YOU SEE HERE ON THE SCREEN. JUST KNOW THAT THIS MODEL COVERS EVERY FACET OF A CAMPUS AND THERE'S NOT AN AREA OF NEED. THESE GOALS DO NOT ADDRESS THE PROCESS TO DEVELOP. THE STREAMLINED CIP BEGAN IN THE SPRING WITH THE CAMPUS NEEDS ASSESSMENT, AND THROUGH THIS PROCESS, CAMPUSES DEVELOPED THEIR OWN AND SOMETIMES UNIQUE SET OF NEEDS. ONCE THEIR NEEDS WERE IDENTIFIED, GOALS, OBJECTIVES AND STRATEGIES WERE DEVELOPED. SO WE'RE NOW IN THE IMPLEMENT AND MONITOR PHASE WHERE CAMPUSES WILL REVIEW THEIR PLANS QUARTERLY. SO WHAT'S DIFFERENT THIS YEAR IN TERMS OF SCHOOL IMPROVEMENT IS HAPPENING AT THE DISTRICT LEVEL? IN THE PAST, THE DISTRICT HAS OBJECTIVES AND STRATEGIES THAT WE'VE GIVEN TO CAMPUSES TO ADD TO THEIR SIPS AND THESE WERE UNIVERSAL STRATEGIES THAT MAY HAVE BEEN REQUIRED BY TIA OR OTHERS THAT WERE JUST IDENTIFIED AS SOMETHING THAT WOULD BENEFIT EVERY CAMPUS. BUT THIS WAS VERY MUCH A TOP DOWN APPROACH. INSTEAD, THIS YEAR WE HAVE ALSO ALIGNED OUR DISTRICT IMPROVEMENT PLAN TO THE EFFECTIVE DISTRICT FRAMEWORK TO BETTER SUPPORT OUR SCHOOLS. YOU MAY NOTICE A SIMILARITY IN THE ALIGNMENT WITH THE ESF, BUT WHILE THE GOALS MAY USE DIFFERENT VERBIAGE, FOR EXAMPLE, GOAL TWO IS TALENT FOR THE DISTRICT LEVEL, BUT IT'S STRATEGIC STAFFING FOR A CAMPUS. THOSE ARE ALIGNED. THE LANGUAGES MAY BE DIFFERENT, BUT THE GOALS [01:00:04] AND STRATEGIES ARE ALIGNED. SO HISTORICALLY, OUR DISTRICT IMPROVEMENT PLAN CONTAINED MANY, MANY STRATEGIES THAT SOMETIMES MADE IT DIFFICULT TO FOCUS ON THE TASK AT HAND. WHAT WE'VE DONE THIS YEAR IS FLIP THE MODEL AND HAVE CAMPUS IMPROVEMENT PLANS DRIVE WHAT'S IN THE DISTRICT, IMPROVEMENT PLAN. SO INSTEAD OF THE DISTRICT TELLING CAMPUSES WHAT THEIR CIP IS NEEDED TO INCLUDE, WE'VE USED THE CIP TO DEVELOP THE SUPPORT PROVIDED BY THE DISTRICT. WE'VE TAKEN THE 52 CIPS CREATED BY CAMPUSES AND USE THOSE TO DRIVE WHAT SUPPORT WILL BE PROVIDED. AND I DO WANT TO MENTION HERE THAT THE BULK OF THIS WORK HAS BEEN DONE BY OUR DIRECTOR OF CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT, DOCTOR GRUBBS. SHE'S LED THIS WORK AT EVERY TURN AND HAS BEEN INTENTIONAL ABOUT ALIGNING THE WORK AND MAINTAINING THE FOCUS ON THE GOALS. SO BY OVERHAULING THIS PROCESS, WE CAN BETTER SUPPORT OUR SCHOOLS BY USING PRACTICES THAT ALIGN WITH STATE RECOMMENDATIONS FOR THE EFFECTIVE SCHOOL FRAMEWORK MODEL. SO WITH THAT, I GIVE THEM TO YOU.
